McCarren Park gets win at Aqueduct

NEW YORK (AP) — McCarren Park held off Ann’s Smart Dancer by a head on Thursday in the $62,000 allowance feature for fillies and mares at Aqueduct.

Junior Alvarado was aboard for his third winner of the day as the 4-year-old trained by Steve Asmussen got her fourth win in 12 starts.

The time was 1:11.66 for the six furlongs.

McCarren Park paid $7.90, $4.60 and $2.70. Ann’s Smart Dancer returned $4.60 and $3 while Expression paid $2.50 to show.
