Late Starter wins Big A feature

NEW YORK (AP) — Late Starter overcame a stumble at the start and finished strongly to beat Citizen Wells by 114 lengths on Friday in the $65,660 allowance feature at Aqueduct.

Jose Ortiz guided the 4-year-old gelding trained by Rick Dutrow to his third win in 15 starts. The time was 1:50.15 for the 1 1-8 miles.

Late Starter paid $5.10, $3 and $2.50. Citizen Wells returned $5.40 and $4.30 while Idle American paid $4.90 to show.
