Campbell wallops Presbyterian 62-46

CLINTON, S.C. (AP) — Trey Freeman scored 13 points and Campbell posted its fifth consecutive win with a 62-46 victory over Presbyterian on Saturday night in a Big South Conference game.

The Camels (8-9, 3-0) led the Blue Hose (3-14, 0-3) 27-22 at the break, but then outscored Presbyterian 35-24 in the second half to win handily.

Presbyterian’s largest lead was two points. It came with 19:33 left in the first half, on the game’s first two points.

Freeman got double-figure scoring help from Darius Leonard and Andrew Ryan, who scored 10 points apiece.

Khalid Mutakabbir led Presbyterian with a game-high 18 points, but Jordan Downing was the only other Blue Hose player in double figures with 13. While Mutakabbir went 6 for 6 at the foul line, Presbyterian was outscored 14-9 on free throws.

Campbell made 22 of 49 shots from the field while Presbyterian was 17 for 52.
