North Carolina A&T routs Florida A&M 68-40

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Lamont Middleton scored 18 points with seven rebounds as North Carolina A&T routed Florida A&M 68-40 Monday night to win its first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game of the season.

The Aggies (8-10, 1-2) made 7 of 19 3-point attempts, with Middleton going 3 of 4 from long range, and shot 48 percent (24 of 50) from the field.

The 40 points marked the Rattlers’ lowest output since losing to Alabama 76-37 on Nov. 12, 2010. Florida A&M shot only 22.8 percent from the field 13 of 57), 1 of 16 from beyond the arc, and 13 of 29 from the free-throw line.

North Carolina A&T led 23-13 at halftime.

Adrian Powell added 14 points, including 8 of 9 free throws, and Jean Louisme had eight rebounds as the Aggies dominated the glass 46-34.

Muhammad Abdul Aleem scored nine points to lead Florida A&M (4-13, 1-2), which has lost seven straight.
