Jackson State keeps Grambling State winless 57-46

GRAMBLING, La. (AP) — Kelsey Howard scored 21 points on 8-of-18 shooting from the field, and Jackson State kept Grambling State winless with a 57-46 victory in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game on Saturday night.

Christian Williams had 12 points, and Sydney Coleman contributed nine points and six rebounds for Jackson State (2-14, 1-6), which outscored Grambling State 33-20 in the second half.

Jackson State snapped a six-game losing streak — all in the conference — with the win. The Tigers’ only other victory was 91-82 at Seattle on Dec. 17.

Steven Dandridge scored 11 points, Terry Rose had 10 points and six rebounds and Peter Robertson scored 10 for Grambling State (0-16, 0-7).

Jackson State won the turnover battle 12-5, leading to a 16-4 advantage in points off turnovers. Jackson State shot 6 of 14 from beyond the arc to Grambling State’s 2 of 8.
