LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Brandon Gibson scored 20 points and Raheem Appleby hit a 3-pointer with 1:26 remaining, helping Louisiana Tech win its 10th straight game with a 51-48 victory over Utah State on Saturday night.

The Bulldogs (18-3, 9-0 Western Athletic) let an eight-point lead slip away in the final five minutes as Utah State’s Jarred Shaw scored twice on layups and Spencer Butterfield converted a three-point play and then hit 1 of 2 free throws to tie it up 48-48 with 1:42 remaining.

Appleby’s shot gave Louisiana Tech the lead back, and Butterfield and Ben Clifford each missed 3s in the final minute for the Aggies (14-5, 5-4).

Shaw had 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Butterfield added 16 points and 15 rebounds for Utah State, which has lost four in a row. The Aggies shot just 27 percent from the floor but outrebounded Louisiana Tech 50-31.

Appleby finished with 10 points for the Bulldogs.
