SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — Hyper moved to the lead with less than a quarter-mile to run and won the $100,000 John’s Call Stakes Wednesday at Saratoga Race Course.
Javier Castellano rode the Chad Brown-trained 6-year-old, who ran 1 5/8 miles over a firm turf course in 2:39.60.and finished 1 14 lengths in front of Side Road.
Hyper earned $60,000 for owners Kenneth and Sarah Ramsey. He paid $5.40, $3.40 and $2.60. Side Road returned $9.20 and $5. Quick Casablanca, third of 10, paid $3 to show.
