Sorenstam, Lopez, Bradley set for 3M event

BLAINE, Minn. (AP) — Three of the top women’s golfers in history are scheduled to take part in the Champions Tour 3M Championship July 29-Aug. 4.

Annika Sorenstam, Nancy Lopez and Pat Bradley will comprise the first-ever women’s team in the Greats of Golf Challenge associated with the event at the TPC Twin Cities.

Hollis Cavner, the tournament’s executive director, said Monday that the women will compete against a pair of men’s teams: Lee Trevino, David Graham and Bill Rodgers and Johnny Miller, Dave Stockton and a yet-to-be-identified player. Arnold Palmer, Billy Casper and Don January will serve as team captains.

Tournament admission will again be free.
