Volcanoes remain unbeaten at home

Vancouver holds off Seattle 122-110

Chehales Tapscott and Josh Tarver each had double-doubles as the Vancouver Volcanoes defeated the Seattle Flight 122-110 in International Basketball League action Sunday at the O’Connell Sports Complex at Clark College.

Tapscott poured in 29 points on 10 of 14 shooting to go with 20 rebounds.

Tarver had 20 points and 12 assists.

Andre Murray scored 25 points to go with six rebounds and eight assists as the Volcanoes (12-3) won their fifth game in a row and remained undefeated (10-0) at home.

Seattle (0-2), an IBL branding franchise this season playing a limited schedule, was led by Larry Greene’s 27 points.

Vancouver made 55.8 percent of its shots and had a 58-48 advantage in rebounds.

Seattle kept the game close for three quarters, trailing by seven at halftime and pulling even by the end of the third quarter at 81-81.

Vancouver made the run to take its biggest lead of the game at 116-100 in the fourth quarter.

Next for Vancouver is a trip to Bellingham (12-2) on Friday for a matchup of the teams with the two best records in the IBL.
