CHELTENHAM, England (AP) — Sprinter Sacre enhanced his reputation as one of Britain’s top horses by easily winning the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival for his eighth victory in a row.

Sent off as the 1-4 favorite, Sprinter Sacre overwhelmed a quality field on Wednesday, romping by about 19 lengths. The 7-year-old horse trained by Nicky Henderson earned $300,000 for the win and continued his dominance in steeplechasing with victories in all of his races by at least six lengths.

In Britain, Sprinter Sacre is the latest star after the retirements last year of Frankel and Kauto Star.

Earlier, trainer Willie Mullins won his fifth race of the jumps festival when Back in Focus took the National Hunt Chase.
