NEW YORK (AP) — New England defender Chris Tierney has been suspended for one game by Major League Soccer for a reckless challenge the league said endangered the safety of Philadelphia forward Sebastien LeToux during a game last weekend.

Tierney also was fined Wednesday by MLS’s disciplinary committee. He will miss Thursday’s match at Portland.
