An estimated 1,500 from Vancouver and Evergreen public schools third-graders will participate in the 11th annual Children’s Cultural Parade at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site at 10 a.m. May 31.

Students will display costumes, dioramas, posters and other expressions of cultural heritage. The parade culminates students learning about the world’s cultures. It is an opportunity for each child to explore his or her own cultural heritage and to celebrate the heritage of classmates.

The parade begins on Fifth Street near Pearson Air Museum going east, turns north on Reserve Street, west on Evergreen Boulevard and south on the park access road into the Fort Vancouver stockade. The event ends at 11:30 a.m.

After the parade, visitors are encouraged to visit Pearson Air Museum, which has no admission fee. Admission to the fort is also waived during the event.
