A suspected intoxicated driver was blamed in a two-car crash on Interstate 5 just north of the Interstate 205 split Thursday night, according to Washington State Patrol.

Kelsey M. Hannah, 21, of Vancouver was driving a maroon 2000 Mitsubishi Galant south on Interstate 5 when the vehicle struck a 1998 Nissan Maxima at a high rate of speed, a WSP bulletin said.

Hannah was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where she was reported in serious condition in the intensive care unit. The driver of the Maxima, Steven H. Bischoff, 22, of Vancouver, was injured but not transported to a hospital, according to state patrol.

Hannah was cited for suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving.

The crash, which was reported at 10:43 p.m., blocked several lanes of traffic for about an hour.
