FARMVILLE, Va. (AP) — Lucas Woodhouse scored 16 points and Longwood shot over 55 percent from the field in an 88-70 win over Mars Hill Saturday.

Tristan Carey made 6 of 13 field goals from the floor and scored 17 points, including a dunk for the Lancers (2-1) with 7:10 left in the first half that broke a brief tie. With a 3-pointer by Leron Fisher at 6:39 in the first half, the Lancers established a lead and pulled away for the duration of the game.

Despite Isaiah Cuthbertson’s 10 offensive rebounds and 20 point game, the Lions (0-3) fell victim to poor shooting (35.4 percent).

The Lancers’ Leron Fisher and Darrion Allen scored season-highs with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
