Sam Houston State dominates Jarvis Christian 98-48

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) — Kaheem Ransom led four teammates with double-digit scoring Wednesday night and Sam Houston State cruised to a 98-48 win over NAIA Jarvis Christian to remain unbeaten.

Ransom scored 16 points for the Bearkats (4-0), Dakarai Henderson had 15, Michael Holyfield and Aurimas Majauskas each scored 12 and Paul Baxter added 11. The Bearkats bench outscored Jarvis Christian’s starters 55-48.

Leading Bearkats scorer Jabari Peters, averaging 22.5 points per game, didn’t score in 20 minutes of play but had six assists.

Baxter opened the game with a 3-pointer and the Bearkats never trailed. Holyfield grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds and blocked three shots. The Bearkats outrebounded the Bulldogs 51-25 and outshot them 60 percent to 29.8 percent from the field on 33-of-55 shooting.

Dewayne Wade led Jarvis Christian with eight points.

Sam Houston State’s 4-0 start is their best since beginning the 2008 season with a 10-0 run.
