Belmont drops Holy Cross 81-70

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Craig Bradshaw scored 21 points to lead Belmont to an 81-70 victory over Holy Cross Saturday night at the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament.

Belmont (5-1) held a commanding 44-26 halftime lead, then held on as Holy Cross (2-3) outscored the Bruins 44-37 in the second half. The Crusaders narrowed the lead to 7 points three times. The latest was when Dave Dudzinski made a layup, cutting the lead to 76-69 with 3:09 remaining. They could never get closer.

Holy Cross (2-3) led at the beginning of the game, but a Drew Windler 3-pointer at the 17:15 mark gave the Bruins the lead for good.

Reece Chamberlain had 17 points, J.J. Mann added 16 and Blake Jenkins had 12 points and 8 rebounds for Belmont. The Bruins hit 56.9 percent of their field goals, making 52.9% of their 3-point shots.

Cullen Hamilton had 16 points for Holy Cross.
