JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) — Rashawn Rembert scored 18 points and East Tennessee State hit 6 of 6 free throws in the final 30 seconds to hold off late-charging Stephen F. Austin for a 66-58 victory Saturday.

Hunter Harris gave ETSU (1-4) a 58-48 lead when he hit 1 of 2 free throws with 3:48 to play but Deshaunt Walker and Jacob Parker each hit 3-point shots to pull within four points just over 2 minutes later.

Harris’ layup with 1:02 remaining gave the Buccaneers a 60-54 advantage before Walker corralled a missed 3-pointer by Parker and put it back to trim the deficit to four with just 30 seconds to play.

Petey McClain made four free throws and Kinard Gadsden-Gilliard another pair down the stretch to hold off the Lumberjacks (3-1).

A.J. Merriweather had 12 points and nine rebounds for ETSU.
