Lightning strikes in Clark County

Scattered lightning strikes were recorded in the Vancouver area Tuesday afternoon. The strikes occurred between 2 and 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Portland.

While there were no reported injuries, The Columbian’s news partner, KATU-TV, reported that lightning struck a tree in east Vancouver and it fell onto a woman’s car.

Besides lighting, there were thunderstorms, fog and 0.14 inch of rain fell by 7 p.m. Tuesday.
