A Battle Ground woman was injured in a two-car crash on state Highway 503 near Lewisville Regional Park Thursday evening.

Yvonne Koskiniemi, 74, of Battle Ground, was injured and transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center after the 5:47 p.m. accident. Hospital staff said she was listed in satisfactory condition.

A Washington State Patrol bulletin said a 2006 Subaru Forester was traveling south on the highway when the driver, Byron Koskiniemi, 75, of Battle Ground, attempted to make a left turn in front of an oncoming vehicle.

The northbound vehicle, a 1993 Toyota Corolla driven by Darren W. Ek, 23, of Yacolt, crashed into the Subaru.

Byron Koskiniemi was cited for failing to yield to the right of way.
