Construction work in the Salmon Creek area will close one lane of Interstate 205 starting tonight, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Girder installation for a new offramp from Interstate 5 to Northeast 139th Street will close one lane of southbound I-205 from 8 tonight to 6 a.m. Thursday, according to WSDOT.

The left-lane closure on I-205 is needed so crews can stage a crane on the freeway to place the girders as part of the Salmon Creek Interchange Project.

Additional girder setting will cause lane closures on southbound I-205 from 8 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday, according to WSDOT.

Workers are building a new bridge and interchange at 139th Street as part of the $133 million project, which is expected to be complete next year.
