Austin Mace ran for 160 yards, and the Mountain View defense intercepted four passes as the Thunder beat the Eagles at Kiggins Bowl.

Despite a couple of long drives, the turnovers prevented Hudson’s Bay from hanging with Mountain View.

Two of the interceptions helped the Thunder to a 21-0 first-quarter lead. An interception at the goal line by Phillip Rudolph halted a long Eagles drive. On the next snap, Mace ran 80 yards for the second Mountain View touchdown.

On the final play of the first quarter, Eddie Richardson took an interception back 25 yards for the third Thunder touchdown.

Mountain View quarterback Lex Reese completed 7 of 8 passes for 152 yards and a touchdown. Carl Falls ran for three Thunder touchdowns.

Stone Sabourin took over at quarterback for Hudson’s Bay when fellow sophomore Jeremy Matheny was injured in the first quarter. Sabourin threw for 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Senior Bryan Hopster ran for 123 yards and a touchdown for the Eagles.

The teams combined for 215 penalty yards.
