H-RoC, an organization created to inspire more Clark County women to run for public office, will host its quarterly “cocktails and conversation” event 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the upstairs dining room of the Grant House, 1101 Officers Row.

The discussion will focus on financial strategies for women leaders. Judith McGee, owner of McGee Wealth Management, will lead the talk.

The event is free to H-Roc members; admission is $10 for non-members. The event includes complimentary appetizers, and guests can buy their own cocktails. Seating is limited to 25. RSVP by emailing letstalk@h-roc.org.

H-RoC describes itself as a nonpartisan political action committee. Its name is a nod to the William Ross Wallace poem titled “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle is the Hand That Rules the World.”

The group’s mission is to finance and mentor women running in local elections, including city council and mayoral races, as well as provide support for women once they’re in public office.
