JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Alonzo Harris rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns, and Louisiana-Lafayette beat Arkansas State 23-7 on Tuesday night for its fifth consecutive victory.
Harris had a 3-yard TD run in each of the first two quarters as the Ragin’ Cajuns (5-2, 3-0 Sun Belt) jumped to a 20-7 halftime lead.
Elijah McGuire had 10 carries for 110 yards for Louisiana-Lafayette, which finished with 265 yards on the ground and outgained Arkansas State 470-168 overall. Stephen Brauchle kicked three field goals.
Adam Kennedy had a 3-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, but that was it for Arkansas State (3-4, 1-1). The Red Wolves had 10 first downs and held the ball for 17 minutes, 42 seconds, compared to 26 first downs and 42:18 in time of possession for the Cajuns.
