Vancouver police are investigating a Wednesday morning incident where a vehicle hit a pedestrian in east Vancouver.

Emergency personnel responded to the incident at Southeast First Street and Southeast 177th Avenue about 8:30 a.m. A pickup reportedly hit a construction worker who was crossing the street, said Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp.

The pedestrian, who was conscious and breathing, was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for evaluation of injuries described as not life-threatening, Kapp said. The worker’s name was not released.

The pickup driver remained on scene, Kapp said, and cooperated with police.
