Salmon Creek — Staff and volunteers of Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center celebrated the hospital’s eighth anniversary Aug. 22 with a special picnic on the roof of their parking garage. Since it first opened in 2005, the hospital has seen significant growth, including a $7 million renovation to prepare for the Oct. 1 start of its contract with Kaiser Permanente. Legacy Salmon Creek is hiring nearly 175 new employees and bringing on board about 170 Permanente Medical Group physicians. Because of the new contract, the theme of the anniversary lunch was “Welcome Aboard,” said hospital spokesman Brian Willoughby.
