Nominees for high school football player of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Sept. 14. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Tuesday with results published in Wednesday’s Columbian.

JAY BECKER, KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN: The senior rushed for 327 yards on 11 carries and four touchdowns and added a 55-yard TD pass in the Knights’ win over Sunnyside Christian.

AUSTIN MACE, MOUNTAIN VIEW: The senior rushed for 173 yards on 29 carries and scored one touchdown in Mountain View’s win over Evergreen.

WILL NOCE-SHELDON, SETON CATHOLIC: The quarterback completed 11 of 16 passes for 281 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 105 yards on 11 carries and another TD in the Cougars’ win over Ilwaco.

COLSTON VUKANOVICH, BATTLE GROUND: The quarterback completed 27 of 38 passes for 349 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 66 yards and another TD in the Tigers’ loss to Prairie.

ELI WHITMIRE, WOODLAND: Whitmire rushed for 120 yards on five carries and scored four first-quarter touchdowns, including one on a 30-yard interception return in the Beavers’ win over Castle Rock.
