Clark College soccer teams shut out Olympic

The Clark College soccer teams posted a pair of non-division shutouts over Olympic on Saturday in Vancouver.

The Clark men (7-1-1), ranked No. 2 in the NWAACC coaches poll, won 6-0 behind two goals from Bernardino Ayala-Jimenez, and a goal and two assists from Christian Desir.

Jonathan Morales (three saves) and John Hickey (one) split time in goal to help preserve the shutout.

The Clark women (2-4-2), won 4-0 as Prairie High grad Zilha Ramic had two goals. Victoria Fulton recorded the shutout in goal.

Next for the Clark men is a trip to Olympic to play South Puget Sound on Wednesday. The Clark women travel to Eugene for a match against Lane on Wednesday.

VOLLEYBALL — Clark opened the crossover tournament at Clackamas with a 3-0 loss to Spokane. Scores were 25-14, 25-20, 26-24.

The Penguins later lost to Chemeketa 25-16, 25-19, 25-22.

Play continues today when Penguins play Whatcom at 11 a.m. in its final pool play match. Clark’s second match will be determined by pool play standings.
