Reminder: Interstate 205 in Salmon Creek is scheduled to close from 10 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Washington State Department of Transportation will close both directions of the interstate between Interstate 5 and Northeast 134th Street while they demolish a ramp that bridges I-205.

Tonight is the first night of weeklong nightly closures, with both directions closing at 10 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and reopening at 5 a.m. the following days. Only northbound lanes will be closed overnight on Thursday and Friday during the same time period. Both directions of the interstate are scheduled to close from 10 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday.

WSDOT advises through traffic to use I-5 and state Route 14 as a detour and local traffic to use I-205 to access state Route 500, Padden Parkway and other local interchanges.

The demolition work is part of the Salmon Creek Interchange Project, intended to help with traffic congestion in the busy section of roadway.
