One man was killed and another injured in a single-vehicle crash on state Highway 14 on Sunday night.

Washington State Patrol responded to the crash, reported at 8:40 p.m.

Kenneth L. Jones, 29, of Vancouver was driving a 1995 Honda Accord east on the highway when the vehicle left the roadway about a mile west of the 164th Avenue exit, state patrol said in a release.

The vehicle went down an embankment, hit several large rocks and overturned, landing on its top.

A passenger in the vehicle, Daniel D. Alexander, 46, of Vancouver, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jones was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with injuries troopers describe as not life-threatening. He was not listed in the hospital’s public directory Monday night.

Troopers are investigating what caused the crash, but said in the release that drugs and alcohol were involved. No citations or arrests have been made.
