The Washington State University Clark County Extension is offering a 16-week diabetes prevention program.

The Diabetes Prevention Program is a lifestyle change program that supports people in making changes to reduce their risk for Type 2 diabetes. Specially trained coaches will work closely with participants to set and achieve goals.

The program is 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays, beginning June 10, at Heritage Farm, 1919 N.E. 78th St. The cost of the class varies based on insurance coverage, income, use of flexible spending accounts and scholarships.

After the 16 weekly lifestyle coaching sessions, participants will have eight monthly maintenance sessions.

The program’s topics include tips for healthy dining out, ways to stay motivated, tipping the calorie balance and healthy eating habits.

For more information, or to register for the class, contact Sandra Brown at 360-397-6060 ext. 5700 or browns@wsu.edu.
