Interior secretary pays visit to Crater Lake

CRATER LAKE NATONAL PARK, Ore. (AP) — Interior Secretary Sally Jewell visited Crater Lake National Park on Saturday to mark the beginning of National Park Week.

Jewell joined charter school students from Eugene, Ore., for a snowshoe hike along the Hemlock Trail.

Students conducted scientific experiments to learn about the temperature, density and water equivalency of snow.
