The Portland man injured in a motorcycle crash early Monday morning was listed in serious condition Tuesday at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, according to hospital staff.

Johnny Johnson, 64, failed to slow down for traffic as he took the 78th Street onramp to southbound Interstate 5 and struck the back of a car at about 2 a.m., according to Washington State Patrol. The driver of the 1995 Subaru SVX struck by Johnson’s motorcycle, Tyler Pyles, 21, of Vancouver, was not injured.

Johnson was cited for speeding, according to WSP.
