ASHLAND, Ore. — Authorities say two Ashland teenage girls are now reported missing, apparently as part of a plan to run away.

The Ashland Daily Tidings reports one of the girls, 17-year-old Hannah Thomas-Garner, has been reported hitchhiking southward along Interstate 5 in Northern California. Her family reported her missing on Sunday.

A second girl, 15-year-old Sylvia Davis, was reported missing Monday night.

Deputy Chief Corey Falls said police learned from classmates that three girls decided to run away, but one backed out.

He says it’s not clear whether Thomas-Garner and Davis planned to travel together.
