Cascade Park West — The Vancouver Police Activities League hosted a literacy event at Crestline Elementary School on Dec. 4 to encourage reading and help cops connect with kids. The monthly literacy events, which take place at different schools, are catered to third- and fourth-graders, according to a press release. Police officers visit with children, teach them about safety, read to them and let them pick out free books. Learn more about the program at www.vancouverpal.org.
