Drunken driving is suspected of playing a role in a crash early Sunday that sent a Vancouver man to the hospital.

The Washington State Patrol said Joshua B. Peterson, 25, was injured in the 1:49 a.m. accident at the intersection of Highway 500 and Interstate 205.

Peterson was driving a blue 1985 SUV eastbound on Highway 500 when he lost control and rolled down an embankment.

He was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated for injuries. His 1985 Jeep Cherokee was reported to be a total loss.

Troopers blame inattention for the crash, and reported Peterson may face charges of DUI.
