Girls basketball: Hockinson 51, Kentwood 50

Freshman Payton Wangler scored 13 points off the bench, and Hannah Neibauer made 3 of 4 free throws in the final 30 seconds as the Class 2A Hawks held off 4A Kentwood at the Oberto Christmas Classic at Burien.

Neibauer scored 11 points and was 7 for 11 from the free-throw line. Elle Tilkin had eight points and eight rebounds in the second half for the Hawks (4-4).

Hockinson will play in the championship game at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Kennedy Catholic High against either Emerald Ridge or Kennedy.
