A suspected intoxicated driver was involved in a single-vehicle on state Highway 14 on Sunday evening.

Joann Thompson, 40, of Washougal was driving a 1993 Dodge Dakota pickup east on the highway when she reportedly fell asleep at the wheel about three miles east of Washougal, according to Washington State Patrol.

The vehicle crossed the centerline just before 6 p.m., then crashed in an embankment on the westbound shoulder, according to state patrol.

Thompson was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where she was treated and released.

She was cited for suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants.
