Vancouver police have found a 12-year-old girl who was reported missing Wednesday night.

Hannah E. Turkington was with a friend earlier in the evening and called her mother to say she would be back home by 6:30 p.m.

Vancouver police were notified that she was missing at 11:30 p.m. and searched for her for several hours, but were unable to find the girl. The agency issued a media release at 4:51 a.m., which asked the public to call 911 if they saw Hannah or had any information about her whereabouts.

Police reported that at 8:40 a.m. today, Hannah was located by Vancouver police detectives. She was safe and is unharmed, police said.

The agency thanked the public for the tips they received on her possible location.
