Germany 2 wins Nordic combined WCup team sprint

CHAUX-NEUVE, France (AP) — Germany dominated a Nordic combined World Cup team sprint on Sunday, with two separate teams finishing first and third.

Germany 2 with Tino Edelmann and Fabian Riessle was fourth after the ski jump event but won the 2×7.5-kilometer cross-country race in 35 minutes, 0.8 seconds. Norway 2, led by Mikko Kokslien who won Saturday’s individual event, finished just 0.4 seconds behind, while Germany 1 with Johannes Rydzek and Eric Frenzel finished 2.1 seconds back.

The France 1 pair of Olympic champion Jason Lamy Chappuis and Sebastien Lacroix was second after the jumping and started 26 seconds behind the Austria 1 team of Christoph Bieler and Bernhard Gruber.

But France 1 dropped down to fifth overall, while Austria 1 finished down in eighth.
