STONEHAM, Quebec (AP) — Maxence Parrot of Canada won the men’s slopestyle at the Snowboard Jamboree on Sunday for his first World Cup victory. Christy Prior of New Zealand took the women’s event.

Parrot, a 19-year-old rider, earned 94.50 points in the final amid steady snow and fog in the hills north of Quebec City. Niklas Mattsson of Sweden was second at 87.50 and Torgeir Bergrem of Norway third at 83.00.

The World Cup halfpipe and slopestyle events were the last chances for Canadians to reach their standards for the Sochi Olympics. Riders in those events are announced Tuesday.

In women’s slopestyle, Prior finished with 89.75 points. She was followed by Cheryl Maas of the Netherlands at 85.25 and Anna Gasser of Austria at 84.25.
