Saint Francis edges Sacred Heart 68-66

LORETTO, Pa. (AP) — Earl Brown scored 16 points and Saint Francis made 7 of 8 free throws in the final minute to hold off Sacred Heart for a 68-66 win Saturday.

After Phil Gaetano’s 3-pointer brought Sacred Heart within 61-60, Brown hit two free throws with 29 seconds left.

Ben Millaud-Meunier made 5 of 6 free throws over the last 17 seconds, missing his last attempt intentionally with 0.9 seconds left to keep Sacred Heart from a good look at a last-second shot.

The Pioneers had come within 67-66 on Steve Glowiak’s late 3-pointer. With the clock at 0.9 after the make, Millaud-Meunier went to the line on a dead-ball foul.

Millaud-Meunier scored 14. Ronnie Drinnon scored 11 and Dominique Major had 10 for Saint Francis (4-15, 2-4 Northeast Conference).

Chris Evans led the Pioneers (4-17, 1-5) with 18 points. De’von Barnett added 14 and Mostafa Abdel Latif had 13.
