Today through Monday, Parkrose Hardware will benefit the Humane Society for Southwest Washington through a pet food drive. Plus, there will be a pet-adoption event at the Vancouver store Saturday afternoon.
From now through Monday, if you bring in a bag of dry cat or dog food that weighs 10 pounds or more, or 10 or more cans of pet food, you’ll receive a 20 percent discount ($50 maximum) off your purchase at Parkrose. Parkrose Hardware stores in Portland (10625 N.E. Sandy Blvd.) and Vancouver (16509 S.E. First St.) are participating.
And, from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, the Humane Society will be at the Vancouver store with adoptable animals and Good Neighbor Vet’s mobile vaccine clinic. All pet adoptions include: spay or neuter surgery, a microchip ID system and national registration, vaccinations, a free veterinary exam and more.
Animals are always available for adoption from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays at the Humane Society’s shelter, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., Vancouver.
