Victor Morales, Jr., of Vancouver will take on Ireland’s Connor Kearney in a three-round bout between 120-pounders on Friday as part of the Oregon vs. Ireland Smoker at Kells Irish Pub in Portland.

The show is scheduled to start at 5 p.m., and Morales bout is scheduled for about 7 p.m.

Morales, 16, is a sophomore at Union High School. Kearney, 17, is part of a team of boxers from Ireland brought to Portland by Kells as part of the restaurant’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival.

Victor Morales, Sr., who coaches his son and others at West Portland Boxing Club, said they only know that Kearney is right-handed.

General Admission tickets cost $20 for the 21-and-older show.

Later in March, Morales will travel to the Dominican Republic to represent Team USA at an international exhibition. In January, Morales qualified for Team USA by winning the 119-pound title at the USA Boxing Junior and Youth Open.
