‘We The People’ team gets trip help

Evergreen — Twenty Evergreen High School students headed to Washington, D.C., and the “We The People” National Competition on April 25, thanks partly to their own smarts and partly to the support of the Evergreen School District Foundation. The team was selected in February but had to raise $39,000 to make the trip; they were still $15,000 short by late April so the foundation (along with many other supporters) stepped in and sent them on their way. The competition was held April 28. A portion of the money was a loan and donations are still welcome online.
