Clark baseball wraps up division title, 30-win season

The Clark College baseball team wrapped up it first division title since 1968 and 30-win season with a sweep at Clackamas on Friday.

The Penguins posted victories of 11-3 and 3-0 to improve to 31-13, 21-9 NWAACC South Division.

The Penguins advance to the NWAACC championship tournament, which begins Thursday at Story Field in Longview.

Clark will open the double-elimination event at 9:35 a.m. Thursday against the North Division No. 2 team.

Bayden Maney was 2 for 4 with two two-run doubles in the first game. Travis Eckert struck out five in his four innings on the mound.

David Mason was 3 for 3 and James Himes was 2 for 2 for Clark in the second game victory. Kevin Hamann was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts in four innings.
