Battle Ground woman remains hospitalized after tragic S.D. crash

A Battle Ground woman injured in a South Dakota car crash that killed her husband and infant daughter last week remained hospitalized late Tuesday.

The Aberdeen (S.D.) News reported that RyAnn L. Muonio, 21, was reported in fair condition Tuesday evening at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

She was seriously hurt Friday evening when the Honda Civic in which she was a passenger drifted over the center line of U.S. Highway 12 near Bowdle, S.D., and crashed into an oncoming Ford F-150 pickup driven by Kasper Unser, 66, of Ipswich, S.D., according to official reports.

Unser remained in critical condition Tuesday at a hospital in Aberdeen, S.D.

Michael A. Muonio, 24, of Battle Ground, the driver of the Civic, died at the scene, and 6-month-old Rula L. Muonio, the couple’s daughter, died after the crash at a hospital in Bowdle.

A passenger in the Muonios’ vehicle, Lorissa Bellikka, 19, of Aberdeen, S.D., died after the crash at a hospital in Bismarck, N.D.
