An 11-year-old Battle Ground girl has been found safe after she was reported missing from her bedroom Thursday morning and a search of the area ensued.

Kristina Alexandria Deryavko was found in a nearby shed reading a book, according to Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Fred Neiman.

Because the girl had no history of being a runaway, detectives with the sheriff’s office said there was possibly suspicious circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

Search and rescue volunteers were sent to her home, 27721 N.E. Lewisville Highway, near Lewisville Regional Park.

They also set up a staging area for search crews at the World of Grace Bible Church, on the corner of Northwest 12th Avenue and Onsdorff Boulevard in Battle Ground.
