A tree took out power lines in Vancouver’s Marrion neighborhood Friday evening, leaving nearly 2,200 customers without power.

The tree fell in the area of Northeast 112th Avenue and Northeast Ninth Street shortly before 6:30 p.m., Clark Public Utilities spokeswoman Erica Erland said.

She said that the tree pulled down the lines and a power pole caught on fire.

The outage caused traffic signals to go out along Northeast 112th Avenue, according to emergency radio traffic.

Clark Public Utilities estimated it would have power restored by midnight.
