4A GSHL football: Mountain View 45, Evergreen 24

Preston Jones rushed for 217 yards and six touchdowns as the Thunder won their season-ending rivalry game at McKenzie Stadium.

Jones had TD runs of 5, 8, 9, 1, 1, and 5 yards, scoring in each quarter.

Jones had a shot at a seventh touchdown when he was stopped three times from inside the 5-yard line late in the third quarter. Jones also had an interception on defense.

Jesus Familia also rushed for 157 yards on 17 carries for Mountain View, which gained 399 yards on the ground.

Kobey Eaton caught six passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns for Evergreen, which fought to stay in the game after the Thunder took a 31-6 lead early in the third quarter.

Billy Nelson rushed for 130 yards and provided a highlight for the Plainsmen when took a sweep early to the right early in the fourth quarter, was stopped, reversed field, broke a couple of tackles, then broke free on a 70-yard touchdown run.
