Clark County seeks waste board volunteer

The Board of Clark County Commissioners is seeking applicants to fill a volunteer position on the Solid Waste Advisory Commission.

The position represents the southwest area of the county. Applicants must live south of 179th Street and west of Highway 503.

Commission members serve three-year terms. The group meets at 6 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month in the Auto Licensing and Elections Office, 1408 Franklin St.

The group is a volunteer advisory panel to the commissioners. Members make recommendations on solid waste, landfills, transfer stations, recycling, waste reduction programs and other related issues.

People who want to be considered for appointment to the advisory commission must send a letter of interest and résumé to Jennifer Clark, Commissioners’ Office, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver 98666-5000. Applications also can be sent by email to jennifer.clark@clark.wa.gov or fax to 360-397-6058. Deadline is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014.
